Custom domains and branding

Each organization can run sign.yt on its own hostname, such as sign.example.com, with its own logo, colors and email sender. All of it is configured by an organization admin in the app.

Domain and branding settings are managed in the app (Settings), not with API keys. This page explains what happens so you can plan DNS and integrations.

Custom domain#

Available on Professional plans and above.

  1. In Settings, enter the hostname you want to use (for example sign.example.com). The app shows the two DNS records to create.
  2. Create a CNAME record from your hostname to platform.sign.yt.
  3. Create a TXT record at _signyt-challenge.<your hostname> with the value shown in the app (signyt-verify=...). It proves the domain is yours.
  4. Click verify. sign.yt checks that the CNAME points exactly to platform.sign.yt and that the TXT value matches. A hostname can belong to only one organization.
  5. The TLS certificate is issued automatically on the first HTTPS request to the hostname.
DNS
sign.example.com. CNAME platform.sign.yt.
_signyt-challenge.sign.example.com. TXT "signyt-verify=<value from the app>"

On a verified domain, the app and the public pages render with your branding, and the API is also served under https://sign.example.com/api/v1. API keys used there must belong to that organization (403 otherwise); using https://api.sign.yt/v1 works for every organization.

Public verification links printed on completed documents use verify.sign.yt; organizations with the full customization add-on and a verified domain get them on their own domain (https://sign.example.com/l/<code>).

Branding#

SettingEffect
Logo, primary color (#RRGGBB)Signing pages, public pages and emails.
ThemePublic page style: classic, minimal, dark or bold.
Sender name, email footerHow invitations and notifications look.
DefaultsDefault verification type and language, allowed signature types (drawn, typed, uploaded), whether the certificate of completion is appended, email notification preferences.
  • Teams can override the organization's branding (for example one logo per office). Resolution order is team, then organization, then platform defaults. Admins can lock branding so teams cannot change it.
  • The "Powered by sign.yt" mark is shown only on the Starter plan.
